Welcome to our graduate learnership program, designed to help you build a successful career in the dynamic and ever-changing field of accounting.

CPG was established in 1988, our focus is our clients and our employees. We believe in training our employees to secure their future.

Our 3-year learnership program (SAIPA Article focus) is structured to provide you with practical experience, professional development opportunities, and exposure to a broad range of industries and sectors. With a focus on excellence, innovation and integrity, our program is designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge you need to succeed in the fast-paced and challenging world of accounting. The learnership offers a stimulating and diverse range of opportunities, from working on client engagements to participating in business development activities, and from attending workshops and seminars to undertaking professional development courses. You'll have access to experienced and supportive mentors and colleagues, who will help guide and support you throughout your journey with us.

Year 1:
  • Join a dynamic and innovative accounting firm that values your skills and potential
  • Experience a comprehensive induction program that will provide a deep understanding of our unique company culture, values and accounting procedures
  • Work alongside experienced and supportive professionals in various accounting functions, while also participating in professional development courses to enhance your skills
  • Be assigned a dedicated mentor who will provide you with valuable guidance and support throughout your career journey
  • Participate in exciting and challenging tasks that will develop your technical and interpersonal skills, all while being part of a vibrant and friendly team
Year 2:
  • Build on the solid foundation gained in Year 1, as you take on larger projects that will further develop your accounting knowledge and expertise
  • Attend exciting workshops and seminars that will help you stay ahead of the curve on the latest industry trends and best practices
  • Work alongside more senior staff on client engagements and actively participate in business development activities that will expose you to diverse industries and sectors
  • Begin managing your own portfolio of clients, building strong relationships and adding value to their businesses through your financial expertise
Year 3:
  • Take on more challenging assignments as you grow into a confident and wellrounded accounting professional
  • Be a role model for junior staff, leading and supervising them as they navigate their own career journey
  • Participate in leadership and management training, preparing yourself for future leadership roles within the company
  • Continue your professional development journey, keeping up-to-date with the latest accounting technologies and best practices
  • Enjoy the potential for career growth and progression within our company, as we recognize and reward exceptional performance and dedication





Necessary Skills required for a 1st year trainee who either has a diploma or degree:
  • Understanding of basic accounting and tax principles
  • Basic knowledge and application of Pastel – not necessary but will be an advantage
  • Basic knowledge and application of Microsoft Office
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good telephone etiquette
Necessary Skills required for a 2nd or 3rd year trainee who either has a diploma or degree:
  • Understanding of accounting and tax principles
  • Knowledge and application of Pastel
  • Knowledge and application of Microsoft Office
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good telephone etiquette
  • Has prior experience on any software for drafting of financial statements
  • Familiar with efiling and submission of returns and loading of payments
  • Easyfile and Workmans Compensation knowledge and understanding of calculations and submission of returns
